Peanuts by Charles Schulz

Peanuts

Given the justifications we humans have given ourselves for several thousand years for killing anybody who doesn’t agree with our beliefs, I’d say Linus’ response might be the preferred alternative.

Happy Halloween to all and to all a good night!

  1. thanks for this just back from volunteering in a shelter for those displaced by sandy. spent the night decorating for halloween – only holiday for children – shelter is 100% over populated with kids sleeping on the floor going back tomorrow to lead groups someone donated a boat full (no pun intended) of pumpkins so there we were carving them at 1-3 am scooping out pulp from others and today some will make pies sitting with the little ones and holding them, also many adults. yes, i believe in the great pumpkin i do

    • Well, it’s a slight variation on the Vatican version, but I’d say the American people are the Great Pumpkin. And you are one of them. Especially if you were carving them up at 3 a.m. I guess people aren’t sleeping all that well right now. One would like to think they are waiting for the pumpkin to arrive, but Sandy definitely was not a pumpkin, was he?

BTW, pumpkin seeds, rinsed, tossed in some vegetable oil and spread on a baking tray to roast for half hour or so & then sprinkled with salt are marvellous. I used to put them in the garbage, but now I treat them like diamonds.
