The Other I

It worked!

Filed under: Just Stuff — theotheri @ 9:26 pm

I am hugely delighted – not to say relieved – that it’s done.

Well almost.

Last November I realized that if I ever wanted to finish the second edition of my book The Big Bang to Now I was going to have to give up blogging on a daily basis.  I was amazed to discover how hard that’s been.

But maybe that’s why it worked.  I’d promised myself I wouldn’t get back to regular blogging until I’d finished.  This is a negative approach to motivation of which I whole-heartedly disapprove.  Except that it worked.

I am now finishing the formatting which is turning out to be a much longer job than I’d anticipated.  Transferring material from a format suitable for hard copy in a book form into formatting for an e-book is surprisingly complex.

But I have promised myself that I can start writing regular daily posts by May 1st.

I think it’s a compliment to everyone who reads these posts that I have missed writing them so much.

And so I would like to say thank you.  I’m very grateful.

  1. Well done!

  4. Wow–major congratulations! With or without blogging, finishing a book is something that almost NEVER happens, if we count all the ones that get started (I have personally contributed heavily to that bigger category). You must be thrilled. Do let us know when it can be bought, will you?

    • Thank you, Barbara. I think it will probably be a couple of months, but I’ll blast the trumpet when it’s out. Thank you for the encouragement to make a public announcement. Terry
