For all that has been, thanks.  Thanks beyond counting.  Thanks for my life.  Thanks especially for the hard things, for the losses, for the failures that looked so disastrous when they happened.  Thanks because there is not one of them I would trade in for the easy things, the gains, the achievements I thought I wanted most.

For all that will be, yes.  Well, yes with some qualifications.  I might not be ready for absolutely everything that could happen.

With best wishes for a truly thankful Thanksgiving.  Even if you aren’t American.  It’s our one holiday worth exporting to the whole world – a day to say thank you.

 Just thank you.
